Changes to Parking in Macquarie Park
Planning Proposal and Parking Meter Rates
The Macquarie Park corridor has experienced significant growth in recent years and is expected to double in floor space and worker numbers by 2031. Congestion is already experienced in the area and is expected to increase with growth. The parking provisions in the area will play a decisive role in managing this congestion by influencing the mode of transport that workers, students and visitors use to get to Macquarie Park.
To respond to the traffic, parking and congestion issues in Macquarie Park, Council is proposing two parking changes. The first being a change to the number of off-street car spaces required by the planning controls and the other being changes to on-street parking meter fees.
Council will be hosting two information sessions. At each session you can learn more about the proposed changes to planning controls for commercial car parking rates and also the proposed changes to the on-street parking meter fees. Over the two hour period there will be a presentation and Q&A with subject matter experts and information about how you can make a submission.
