As we advised last month, Macquarie Park has been confirmed by Transport NSW as one of the eight Sydney trial sites for On Demand transport services.

Using a fleet of 15 ‘micro’ buses, the service will operate during peak times in the week to major transport hubs such as the Macquarie Shopping Centre.  Booking is similar to using a ride-sharing app -  customers simply order online or by phone up to 30 mins before they wish to travel.  They’ll then be notified of their pick-up and drop-off locations and times.

The scheme is part of Transport NSW focus on improving the convenience and reliability of transport for customers and is scheduled for rollout in early 2018.

Connect members have been asked to help Transport NSW shape On Demand transport by sharing their thoughts on how they might use the service to move to / from and around Macquarie Park.

Look out for our survey on how you would use On Demand transport in our next edition.
