Date & TIME

11:00am - 1:00pm

Thursday November 23

Starting LOCATION

The Macquarie University School of Engineering carpark

Corner of 44 Waterloo Road and Coolinga Street (map)

On Thursday, volunteers will make a stand in the Macquarie Park precinct with a walk led by the Ryde Hunters Hill Domestic Violence, Family and Sexual Violence Committee, and supported by the City of Ryde.

First launched in 2019 as a community march and rally, the annual ‘Make a Stand’ walk acknowledges the commencement of the 16 days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence and annual international campaign.

Kicking off with the international Day for the elimination of Violence Against Women on 25 November, the campaign runs until Human Rights Day on 10 December 2023.

The walk will commence at The Macquarie University School of Engineering carpark on the corner of 44 Waterloo Road and Coolinga Street and finish at Elouera Reserve on Waterloo Road (950m).

Once complete, event participants will gather at Elouera Reserve for light refreshments, some music and to share thoughts on how our community can help in stemming this damaging social issue.

Save the date and join your community in making a stand against abuse.
