Macquarie Park leaders stake out “Sydney Summit”

Macquarie Park was represented by leaders from across Connect MPID’s members at yesterday’s third annual “Sydney Summit”.

The Committee for Sydney’s essential half-day event brought city heads together for a proactive debate about the future of New South Wales.

Welcoming the promise of a new year - and a new term of State Government - the summit sounded a note of optimism about Greater Sydney despite recent pandemic disruption, and ongoing economic challenges.

Speakers included the Premier of NSW the Hon. Dominic Perrottet MP, and the Shadow Minister for Planning and Public Spaces Paul Scully MP.

Mark Ames, General Manager at Connect Macquarie Park Innovation District said the summit was a great opportunity for Macquarie Park to participate in an important conversation;

“We’re just weeks away from a State Government election, so it was great to bring a table of leaders from Macquarie Park to the city for the Committee for Sydney’s excellent Sydney Summit.”

“It was fascinating to hear about the challenges all of Sydney faces, as we reflect on the opportunities our growing innovation district presents.”

The Voice to Parliament referendum, economic resilience, transport and housing, plus what Sydneysiders’ think about the harbour city were among the Summit’s key themes.

This event exhibited a unique opportunity for our network of connected members to come together, look ahead and continue to drive positive outcomes for Macquarie Park, Sydney and Australia alike.
